SO! the finger crossing didn't really work did it? From the way I see it, I think this country is in for a rough patch. With "seperate but equal" legal and established, things for the blacks,] are going down the toilet, believe me. Things were bad enough to begin with even after the 13th and 14th amendments were ratified. But now with the power to discriminate on private property and the ability to herd blacks into different facilities, things are worse, and maybe just going back to the way they were before. God, I am a thirsty man. I'm gonna go get some coke. or some milk. Not sureeee.

I think I'm going crazy. Everybody disagrees with me. Those stupid justices actually believed all that "separate but equal" stuff. The accommodations may be seperate, but sure as heck aren't equal. And even if they were, it's wrong to divide people up according to their race! I think I'm gonna' go cry and then have another breakdown.

So i was out dancing in a club when i was alerted that another case was coming to court. My first reaction was "cool!". However my second thought was "that probably means I have to go home now..." . My third and final thought was "maybe people will listen to me this time". SO i raced home and the next month I was sitting in the courtroom wearing a justice's robe (which,for the record, are very itchy) listening to the opening arguments. Once again, the case was on racial discrimination. And once again, I was appalled. I thought that it was horribly unreasonable that Plessy, a man 1/8th black, was asked to leave the all white car! Firstly, he is 7/8th's white! Second of all this whole "separate but equal" thing thats going on is pretty wrong. You can't be separate and equal, especially if one group has jurisdiction over the making of what is equal! Plessy was denied his freedoms to sit where he wanted BY THE STATE! I know I'm right on this one...

Well. Guess what? Those stupid justices voted against me. Well, I called that one. So here's the situation, now the Civil Rights Act of 1875 is out of the picture, and like i said before, i think things are only going to get worse. But y'know, everybody tends to disagree with me so i guess so maybe I'm just wrong. But It would be a huge shame if the country was just reverted back to the way it was before the civil war. All that fighting and spilled blood would be for nothing. If people know have the ability to discriminate against blacks and not be prosecuted, then they will. So lets keep our fingers crossed for the sake of our country.

Civil Rights Cases Of 1883

So I kick off the year with a long and most interesting slew of Civil Rights Cases. Some white people around the country have violated the Civil Rights Act of 1875 and now its coming here, to washington to challenge it's constitutionality. I was pretty excited even before it started, these types of cases always grabbed me. So pretty quickly after we got into I started thinking to myself "If the Civil Rights Act is ruled unconstitutional, then reconstruction is over!" and each case made me more sure of this. At first, I went into a state of panic and i eventually found myself sitting in an armchair with a blanket over my head, drinking home made peach juice and eating bread, all the while reciting the lord's prayer. That's when I realized I had to get a hold on myself. I had seen the injustice and racism of modern day America near it's worse while I lived in Kentucky. These ex-slaves were in trouble and I was the only one who could help them! It was at this point that I had a second breakdown. After I had regained control, I had the realization that the other justices had all lived in the north and had not been exposed to the racism in america as I had! Things seem kinda' bleak right now but hopefully, I can convince the other justices that these freedmen are really still in need!
